# Biller

> Billing, GST and receipts for small shops, right from your phone.

- Category: Retail billing
- Platform: Android app + admin console
- Operating system: Android
- Built for: Small shops, kiosks and counter staff who need quick, GST-aware billing without a PC or POS terminal.
- Works on: Android phones
- Prints to: Bluetooth thermal printers, 58 mm or 80 mm paper

Biller turns a phone into a billing counter. Build a bill from your item list, see the total and the GST inside it, and print a receipt to the Bluetooth thermal printer you already own. Your items, bills and photos live on the phone, so billing keeps working when the network does not.

A dashboard with a 30-day sales chart and top items shows how the shop is doing, and reports export as CSV files. Backups are files you keep, protected with a passphrase you choose, and an app lock with a numeric code or fingerprint or face unlock keeps the shop data private.

A second phone can join over the same Wi-Fi or hotspot to share items and bills. A companion web console lets the one08 team manage shops, sign-in passwords and versioned item catalogs that shops download after signing in. There are no ads and no analytics.

## Overview

Biller is an Android app for billing at a shop counter. You keep a list of your items with their prices and GST rates, and when a customer buys, you tap the items, set the quantities and save. The bill is stored on the phone, and if you have a Bluetooth thermal printer, the receipt prints on the spot.

A small shop does not always have a steady connection, and it does not always have a PC at the counter. So Biller keeps your items, categories, bills and photos on the phone and does its daily work without a network. It only goes online to sign you in, to read your shop details and to download the item catalog that your shop has been given.

The same phone also tells you how the shop is doing. A dashboard shows total sold, a 30-day sales chart and top items, and reports can be shared or saved as CSV files. A second phone can join over your own Wi-Fi or hotspot, and backups are files that you keep. There are no ads and no analytics.

### Principles

- **The phone is the shop.** Items, bills and photos are stored on the phone. Nothing is needed from a server to take a bill.
- **Fewer taps at the counter.** Tap an item to add it, tap again for more, then save. The primary button can be Save or Print & Save, whichever you use most.
- **GST is worked out for you.** Each item carries its GST rate, and each bill shows the total and the GST inside it, so nobody has to calculate at the counter.
- **Data leaves only when you say so.** Pairing a second phone and saving a backup or report are the only ways data leaves the phone, and each starts from your own tap.

### Words used in the app

- **Shop ID**: The sign-in name issued to your shop, used with a password. Each shop ID keeps its own items and bills on the phone.
- **Catalog**: Your items and categories. A shop can also download a catalog that was prepared for it, and import it into the phone.
- **GST rate**: The percentage set on an item. Biller treats the item price as the price the customer pays, and shows the GST contained in it.
- **Master phone**: The phone that holds the shop data and lets another phone pair with it.
- **Coworker phone**: A second phone that pairs with the master by QR code or code and shares items and bills over the same Wi-Fi or hotspot.
- **Backup**: A file with your catalog, your bills or both, which you keep outside the phone. A passphrase can protect it.

Picture: Create Bill: pick a category, then tap items to add them.

## What it is

- An Android billing app for small shops, kiosks and counter staff.
- Items, categories, bills and photos are stored on the phone, so billing continues without a network.
- Built for the counter: pick items, set quantities, save the bill and print the receipt.
- Backed by a companion web console that the one08 team uses to manage shops, sign-in passwords and versioned item catalogs.

## What it isn't

- Not a full POS terminal or stock-management system: it records bills, not stock levels.
- Not a payment app: Biller does not process payments, it records the bills you create.
- Not ad-supported: there are no ads and no analytics.
- Not a cloud-only service: your data lives on the phone unless you back it up or pair a second phone.

## A day at the counter

- **Open the app**: Sign in with the shop ID and password issued to your shop. After the first sign-in the phone remembers it for up to 15 days.
- **Bill each customer**: On Create Bill, tap the items the customer wants, set quantities and save. The total and the GST inside it are worked out for you.
- **Print the receipt**: If a Bluetooth thermal printer is set up, use Print & Save to hand over a paper receipt. A saved bill can be printed again from its details.
- **Correct a mistake**: Open the bill from the bill list, change it and update it, or delete it if it should not exist.
- **Look at the day**: The Dashboard shows total sold, a 30-day sales chart and top items. Reports list what was sold for a day, a week or a month.
- **Close up**: Export a CSV report if your accountant wants one, and take a backup so the shop data also exists outside the phone.

## Set up your shop

Setting up takes a few minutes, and most of it is adding your items.

1. **Sign in**: Open Biller and sign in with the shop ID and password issued to your shop. Shop details such as the name and address come from the server and refresh each time you sign in.
2. **Add your items**: Under Items, add each item with a name, category, price, GST rate, and an optional description and photo. Categories can be created first and put in the order you want.
3. **Or download a catalog**: If your shop already has a catalog prepared for it, use the download icon on the Items screen to fetch it and import it. This is the one step that needs internet.
4. **Set up the printer**: Pair your Bluetooth thermal printer in Android settings first. Then, in Biller Settings, choose it, pick 58 mm or 80 mm paper and send a test page.
5. **Choose the main button**: In Settings, decide whether the highlighted button on Create Bill is Save or Print & Save. Both stay available. Print & Save appears once a printer is set up.
6. **Lock the app**: Optionally set an app lock with a numeric code, and turn on fingerprint or face unlock on phones that support it.

Picture: Printer, paper width and the main button, set once per phone.

## Two phones, one shop

Pair a coworker phone with the master phone. Both need to be on the same Wi-Fi or hotspot. No internet is needed.

1. **Open Coworker sync on the master**: On the master phone, open Coworker sync from the menu. It shows a QR code and a code for a coworker to use.
2. **Pair the second phone**: On the second phone, choose the Coworker ID tab on the sign-in screen, then scan the QR code from the master, or type the master address and the code by hand.
3. **Sync**: On the coworker phone, Sync now brings over the items, categories and bills of the master. Bills made on the coworker phone are queued and sent to the master on the next sync.
4. **Check who made what**: The bill list can be filtered by who made a bill, so each person can be checked when the day is added up.
5. **Leave or revoke**: A coworker phone can leave the master, and its bills still waiting to be sent stay saved. If the master revokes access, the coworker is signed out.

## Keeping a copy safe

Backups are files. You choose what goes in, where it goes and whether a passphrase protects it.

1. **Choose what to back up**: In Settings, open Backup & Restore. Choose the catalog (items, categories and item photos), the bills, or everything.
2. **Protect it**: Choose a passphrase to encrypt the file. The app tells you plainly if you continue without one, because anyone holding that file could read it.
3. **Save or share it**: Save the file to the phone's storage, or share it by WhatsApp, email or any other app.
4. **Restore when needed**: Choose a backup file and restore it into the shop login. Restoring adds the bills and items that are missing and does not delete what is already there.
5. **Check the phone's data**: The data section shows the size of the local database and the copies the app keeps, and can export all of it or restore from a copy. The app reminds you when the last backup is old or missing.

## How Biller looks, and what you do on each screen.

Real screens from the app, shown with sample items and bills, so the pictures show the layout rather than a real shop. Each screen comes with a plain description, what you can do there and why it matters.

### Sign in

![Biller app, sign-in screen with Shop ID and Password fields](https://one08.tech/products/biller/login.webp)

**What you see.** A plain light screen with the Biller mark, a B with a short green line under it, and the name Biller at the centre. Two tabs sit below: Shop ID & password, selected, and Coworker ID. The selected tab shows a Shop ID field with a person icon, a Password field with a lock icon and an eye control that shows the password, and a wide black Log in button.

**What you can do.**
- Enter the shop ID and password issued to your shop, then press Log in.
- Use the eye control to show the password while typing, to avoid mistakes.
- On a second phone, switch to Coworker ID to join the master phone, as described in the two-phones steps.

**Why it matters.** Each shop ID keeps its own items and bills on the phone, and a coworker phone joins the master without a separate account.

### Create a bill

![Biller app, Create Bill screen with category chips, item tiles and the item count and total at the bottom](https://one08.tech/products/biller/create-bill.webp)

**What you see.** A black title bar carries the menu icon at the left, the Biller mark and the words Create Bill, and a history icon at the right. Below it, a row of category chips starts with All, selected in black, then Burgers, Pizza, Wraps & Rolls and Beverages, which scrolls sideways. The rest of the screen is a grid of item tiles, each with a picture, the item name and its price in rupees. A tile shows a small badge with its count once it is in the bill. A bar at the bottom reads the item count and the total, such as 3 items and an amount, with a receipt button and a black Save button beside it.

**What you can do.**
- Tap a category chip to narrow the items, or stay on All.
- Tap an item to add it to the bill, and tap again to add more.
- Tap the receipt button to see every line and the total, and remove what was added by mistake.
- Press Save to store the bill, or Print & Save once a printer is set up.
- Open the history icon to go to the list of bills.

**Why it matters.** This is the screen used for every sale, so the common case is one tap per item and one tap to finish.

### Bill details

![Biller app, bill details shown as a paper receipt with lines, GST and total](https://one08.tech/products/biller/bill-detail.webp)

**What you see.** A black title bar reads Bill details, with a back arrow at the left and a red delete icon at the right. The bill sits on a paper-style receipt. It starts with the shop name and address, then the bill number, the date and time, and who made it. Each line has a small picture, the item name, the quantity, the price, the GST for the line and the line total. Below the lines come the GST amount and a grey TOTAL row, then a thank-you line. Two buttons sit at the foot of the screen: Print and Edit.

**What you can do.**
- Read the bill exactly as it will print.
- Press Print to send it again to the paired printer.
- Press Edit to change the bill and update it if something was wrong.
- Delete the bill with the red icon. The app asks first, and a deleted bill cannot be brought back.

**Why it matters.** A customer who comes back, or a mistake found later, can be handled from the bill itself, without keeping a paper copy.

### Bills

![Biller app, Bills list grouped under a day heading with the total for the day](https://one08.tech/products/biller/bills.webp)

**What you see.** A title bar reads Bills, with a back arrow at the left and a checklist icon at the right. Below it, a Created by filter shows All, with a dropdown arrow. Bills are grouped under a day heading, here Today, with the total for the day on the right of the heading. Each row shows the bill number and, underneath, the time and who created the bill, with the amount in rupees at the right.

**What you can do.**
- Scroll back through the bills of earlier days.
- Filter the list by who created the bill, with the Created by menu.
- Open any bill to see its details.

**Why it matters.** On a shared counter, the bills of each person can be checked when the day is added up.

### Items

![Biller app, Items list with categories, prices and GST rates](https://one08.tech/products/biller/items.webp)

**What you see.** A black title bar reads Items, with a checklist icon and a cloud download icon at the right. Each row has a drag handle at the left, a round picture, the item name, its category and GST rate, such as Burgers · GST 5.0%, and the price in rupees at the right. A black plus button floats at the bottom right.

**What you can do.**
- Tap plus to add an item with its name, category, price, GST rate, description and photo.
- Tap an item to edit it or delete it.
- Use the cloud download icon to fetch the catalog prepared for your shop and import it. This needs internet.

**Why it matters.** The item list is the base of every bill, so the price and the GST are set once here and not at the counter.

### Dashboard

![Biller app, Dashboard with total sold, a 30-day sales chart and top items](https://one08.tech/products/biller/dashboard.webp)

**What you see.** Three buttons at the top choose the period: Today, 7 Days and 30 Days, with 30 Days selected. A card shows Total sold in large type. Below it, a card titled 30 days holds a bar chart with dates along the bottom, showing each day of sales. A Top items card follows, with two small buttons, ₹ and Qty, to rank the items by amount or by quantity. Each item shows its name, a bar, and its amount and quantity.

**What you can do.**
- Switch between today, the last 7 days and the last 30 days.
- Read the total sold for the period.
- See which items sold the most, ranked by amount or by quantity.

**Why it matters.** The owner can see how the shop is doing from the phone, without a spreadsheet.

### Reports

![Biller app, monthly Reports with the total sold and the items sold with quantities](https://one08.tech/products/biller/reports.webp)

**What you see.** A title bar reads Reports. Three buttons choose Daily, Weekly or Monthly, with Monthly selected, and arrows either side of the period, October 2026. A line names the report, Monthly - October 2026. A card shows Total sold for the period, then a list of each item with its quantity and the amount sold.

**What you can do.**
- Pick a day, a week or a month.
- Read the total sold and what was sold, item by item.
- Share the report as a CSV file through any app, or save it to the phone.

**Why it matters.** What the accountant asks for at the end of the month is one tap away, and it is a file you control.

### Settings

![Biller app, Settings with the printer, paper width and primary action](https://one08.tech/products/biller/settings.webp)

**What you see.** A title bar reads Settings. Below it, collapsible groups: Shop info and Device & security, both closed here, and Billing, open. Billing shows the printer, with the words No printer set up and a Choose printer button. Then comes Paper width, with 58 mm or 80 mm to pick from, and Primary action, Save or Print & Save, with a note that a printer must be set up before Print & Save can be chosen. Further down, a switch shows item pictures in bill details, and a switch vibrates on the Create Bill buttons.

**What you can do.**
- Choose a Bluetooth printer that is already paired, pick the paper width and send a test page.
- Decide whether Save or Print & Save is the highlighted button.
- Turn item pictures in bill details on or off, and vibration on the Create Bill buttons.
- Open Shop info to read the shop details, which come from the server, and Device & security to set or change the app lock.

**Why it matters.** Everything that is set once per phone, such as the printer, the lock and the backup, is in one place.

### Menu

![Biller app, navigation menu open over the Create Bill screen](https://one08.tech/products/biller/menu.webp)

**What you see.** A black header carries the Biller mark and the name Biller. Below it, a list with an icon before each entry: Items, Categories, Dashboard, Reports, Coworker sync and Settings, then a divider and Logout. The Create Bill screen behind the menu is dimmed.

**What you can do.**
- Jump to Items or Categories to change what you sell.
- Open the Dashboard or Reports to see sales.
- Open Coworker sync to pair a second phone.
- Log out to switch to another shop login.

**Why it matters.** Billing stays on the first screen, and everything else is one tap away.

## Features

### Billing and receipts

How a sale becomes a bill, and a bill becomes paper.

- **Create a bill**: Tap items to add them, set quantities and save. The bottom bar shows the item count and the total, and the receipt button lists every line. Create Bill is the first screen. Categories appear as chips above the items, with All first, so a long list can be narrowed with one tap. Tap an item to add it, tap it again for more, or set the quantity directly from a short dialog. Save stores the bill. When a printer is set up, Print & Save saves and prints in one step. In Settings you choose which of the two is the highlighted button, and whether the phone vibrates when you tap them. Picture: The bar at the bottom shows the item count and the total, with Save.
- **Bills and bill details**: Browse the bill list, filter bills by who made them, open any bill, and edit it, print it again or delete it. The bill list opens from the history icon on Create Bill, and groups bills under a day heading with the day total. Opening a bill shows it as a paper-style receipt with its lines, quantities, prices, GST and total. A saved bill can be updated, and Print & Update prints the corrected one. Deleting asks first, and a deleted bill cannot be brought back. Item pictures can be shown in bill details on screen; the printed receipt never has pictures. Picture: The bill list, grouped by day.
- **GST built in**: Per-item GST rates with totals worked out for every bill. Every item has a GST rate, and each bill line keeps the rate that applied when the bill was made, so later changes to an item do not alter old bills. Biller treats the item price as the amount the customer pays and shows the GST contained in it, along with the total. When a bill has no GST, the GST line is left off the receipt.
- **Bluetooth receipt printing**: Print to a thermal printer already paired with your phone. Pair the printer in Android Bluetooth settings first. Biller lists the printers already paired, lets you pick one, choose 58 mm or 80 mm paper, send a test page, change the printer or forget it. The receipt carries the shop name, address and contact number, the bill number, date and time, who made the bill, each line with quantity and price, GST, the total and a thank-you line. Receipts print in plain characters: the rupee sign prints as Rs. and letters outside basic English may print as question marks. Picture: A bill as it will print, with its lines, GST and total.

### Items and catalog

What you sell, with its price and GST.

- **Item catalog**: Items with categories, prices, GST rates and optional photos. Each item has a name, category, price in rupees, GST rate, an optional description and an optional photo. Items can be edited or deleted from the Items screen, and the list shows each item's GST rate. Photos stay on the phone, and are included when you pair a coworker phone or take a backup of the catalog. Picture: Items with their categories, prices and GST rates.
- **Categories**: Create categories and set their order, so items are easy to find at the counter. Categories group items on Create Bill as chips above the grid. You can add, rename and delete them, and put them in the order that suits your counter.
- **Download your shop catalog**: After you sign in, download the item catalog prepared for your shop and import it. The one08 team prepares versioned catalogs for each shop in the admin console. After signing in, the download icon on Items fetches the shop's catalog and imports it, so a shop with many items does not type them one by one. This is the only part of item management that needs internet. The items you import are then yours on the phone and keep working offline.

### Sales and reports

How the shop is doing, and what you can hand to an accountant.

- **Sales dashboard**: Total sold, a 30-day sales chart and top items for today, 7 days or 30 days. Choose Today, 7 Days or 30 Days. Total sold sits at the top, with a bar chart of the period beneath it, and Top items can be ranked by amount or by quantity. Each item in Top items shows its amount and its quantity, so the best sellers are easy to compare at a glance. Picture: Top items, ranked by amount or by quantity.
- **Reports and CSV export**: Daily, weekly and monthly reports, shared or saved as CSV files. Reports lists what was sold in a period with the quantity of each item and the total sold. Share sends the file through any app on the phone, and Save to Files stores it in the phone's storage. The report is a plain CSV file that opens in a spreadsheet, so it can be handed to an accountant. Picture: A monthly report: total sold and what was sold.

### Two phones and backups

Sharing the shop with a coworker, and keeping a copy outside the phone.

- **Coworker sync**: Pair a second phone by QR code and share data over local Wi-Fi. The master phone shows a QR code and a code. The coworker phone scans it, or you type the address and code, then pairs. Paired phones share items, bills and photos over the same Wi-Fi or phone hotspot, and no internet is needed. Bills made on the coworker phone are queued and sent on the next sync. Sync runs over your local network and is not encrypted, so use a network you trust. Guest or isolated Wi-Fi can block phones from reaching each other, and the app lists what to check.
- **Encrypted backups**: Back up and restore your catalog and bills as files, protected with a passphrase you choose. You choose what to include: the catalog, the bills, or both. Save the file to the phone or share it. A passphrase encrypts it; if you skip the passphrase, the app says the file is not encrypted. Restoring adds the missing items and bills into your shop login and does not delete anything. The app reminds you when you have never taken a backup or the last one is old.
- **Your data on the phone**: See the size of the local database and the copies the app keeps, export everything, or restore from a copy. The data section lists the database, its size and the copies kept on the phone. Restoring from a copy first keeps the current data aside, so it can be undone, and asks you to restart the app.

### Offline, private and locked

Where the data lives and who can open it.

- **Works offline**: Billing, items, reports and backups need no internet connection. The app contacts the server only to sign you in, read your shop details and download your catalog. A server sign-in lasts up to 15 days, then asks for your password again. Everything else, including billing, reports, printing, backups and pairing a coworker phone, runs on the phone or on your own network.
- **App lock**: Numeric code or fingerprint and face unlock to keep shop data private. Set an app lock with a numeric code. On phones that support it, fingerprint or face unlock can be used first, with the code as the fallback. The code can be changed or turned off in Settings.
- **Private by design**: No ads and no analytics. Shop data stays on the phone unless you pair a phone or share a file. Permissions are used for one job each: the camera only to read the pairing QR code (you can type the code instead), Bluetooth only to list and use a printer you have already paired, and biometrics only to unlock the app. The Bluetooth scan permission is flagged as never used for location. Biller does not process payments. It records the bills you create.

## Highlights

- Billing without internet
- GST and receipts
- Bluetooth thermal printing
- Encrypted backups

## Who uses what

Biller has two ways to sign in on a phone and one console for the one08 team. The shop phone holds the data, a coworker phone shares it, and the team prepares shops and catalogs.

### Shop owner (master phone)

Signs in with the shop ID and password.

- Creates bills, prints receipts and edits or deletes bills.
- Manages items, categories and photos, and downloads the shop catalog.
- Reads the dashboard and reports, and exports CSV files.
- Sets the printer, the app lock and backups, and pairs coworker phones.

### Coworker (second phone)

Joins the master by QR code or code, over the same Wi-Fi or hotspot.

- Creates and prints bills on its own phone.
- Syncs items, categories and bills with the master phone.
- Changes the master address, or leaves the master.

Not available:
- Sign in as the shop without the shop ID and password.
- Keep working if the master revokes access.

### one08 team (admin console)

A web console for staff and admin accounts, not for shop staff.

- Creates shops and sets or resets their sign-in passwords.
- Sets how long a shop's sign-in and account last.
- Uploads, versions and deletes item catalogs that shops download.
- Admins also manage console users and can delete shops.

Biller runs on Android phones. There is no iPhone version today.

## Questions a shop owner asks.

### Does Biller work without internet?

Yes for billing, items, reports, printing and backups, which all run on the phone. Internet is used only to sign in, to read your shop details and to download your shop catalog. A server sign-in stays active for up to 15 days, then the app asks for your password again.

### Which phones and printers does it work with?

It is an Android app. For printing, it uses a Bluetooth thermal receipt printer that you have already paired in the phone's Bluetooth settings, with 58 mm or 80 mm paper. Receipts print in plain characters, so the rupee sign prints as Rs. and some letters outside basic English may print as question marks.

### How is GST handled?

Each item has a GST rate. Biller treats the item price as the amount the customer pays, and shows the GST contained in it and the total on the bill. Each bill keeps the rate that applied at the time, so changing an item later does not change old bills.

### Where is my data stored, and can I lose it?

Items, categories, bills and photos are stored on the phone. If the phone is lost or reset, they go with it unless you have a backup or a paired coworker phone. Take backups regularly: the app reminds you when the last one is old, and a backup can be protected with a passphrase.

### Can two people bill at the same time?

Yes, with a second phone. Pair it with the master phone by QR code or code over the same Wi-Fi or hotspot, and it shares items, bills and photos. Bills made on the second phone are sent to the master on the next sync. Sync is over your local network and is not encrypted, so use a network you trust.

### Can I export reports for my accountant?

Yes. Reports can be daily, weekly or monthly, and are saved or shared as CSV files that open in any spreadsheet.

### Is there an app lock, and does it show ads?

You can set an app lock with a numeric code, and use fingerprint or face unlock on phones that support it. There are no ads and no analytics. Biller does not process payments; it records the bills you create.

### How do I get started?

Biller is used with a shop ID and password issued to your shop. Write to us from the contact page or by email or phone, tell us about your shop, and we will reply with a sensible first step.

## Who it is for
